Ok so today I got two compliments from people on Talon's weight. It was so awkward because I was like...."um....actually. He's very underweight. He's gaining weight slowly, but he has a good 5 lbs to go at least." lol I've gotten a few compliments before as well. First few times it was just people looking at him, so I figure his fur kinda hid his boniness a bit, but these people actually petted him all over. Makes me a bit dumbfounded. Can you seriously not feel those bones!? Though he's gaining muscle nicely and has gained 3lbs!

I have this feeling that people are so against dogs being overweight, that they don't realize when a dog is underweight either. Then there's little Artimis, who is my perfect weight, muscular little guy that no one ever comments on! I even had someone say he looked a bit chubby...um....seriously???

Also.....someone told me my dog was a Greyhound mix. Wanna guess which dog? :rofl1:

Sometimes an underweight dog is still much better to see than an overweight one! I've given compliments to owners with underweight dogs before - people who are trying to get them to gain a few pounds, but despite that the dogs are still well muscled and clearly not in "bad" shape. :)

Around here people tend to lean the opposite way. A lot of people say so and so is too skinny but to me just looks like a fit GSD.

I'm glad I don't own a sighthound because being accused of starving my dog would not be fun for me.
