I've never really been a herp person, though I never disliked them either. I've always wanted a small snake, such as a corn snake, just because snakes are cool. But this semester, I'm taking the reptile & amphibian class at the university, went on a herping trip with my vertebrate zoology class, and now I work at the local zoo and care for the education animals, most of which are herps. I have found that I have a whole new perspective on them than I did before - to the point I'm reconsidering what area of the zoo I ultimately want to work in.

I have fallen madly in love with the geckos, specifically the crested geckos ( though we also have leopard geckos, and they're adorable as well). They have so much personality in those tiny little bodies. I love the snakes - I really wanted to carry the carpet python around the other day for some enrichment, but he was not in the mood. I even sort of adore the little hognose that likes to strike, in a strange sort of way lol.

Anyway, I totally see myself with some sort of reptile as soon as it's feasible. Probably something small and easy (to start with lol) like some sort of gecko. It's a ways off yet, though. Also, ever since finding out geckos climb walls through the use of molecular bonding, I am in complete awe of their mad climbing skillz :rofl1:

Soooooo...anyone have herp pictures they care to share?

I used to have a Ball Python. I want to get another one, but I have to steal my sisters aquarium from her first :p

When I do get it, it's either that or an actual tank I'll be setting up. I love fish tanks, so I may do that. Dunno yet.
