Kai and Zoey eat NB Venison and Brown Rice, and obviously that has to stop right away. What the hell should I feed now? I have to make a quick decision and switch them cold turkey. Ack! This is horrible!

Kai has been on NB since the first of the year. His chronic vomiting has gone on since November of last year, but it sort of makes you wonder about how this has been affecting him in the last few months. Zoey has seemed fine, but she seems to have more of an iron gullet. It doesn't mean that there isn't anything wrong with the food.

I am freaking out. I have to switch them today. This makes me want to start feeding raw, but I have no clue what I'm doing!

So, if anyone can recommend a food I can switch them to I would so appreciate it. Kai doesn't do well on poultry. As of now, I'm thinking Timberwolf Organics. Money is not an object and I can most likely find any food somewhere around here.

God, I'm so pissed!

Yeah, he didn't do well at all on Evo. From what I can tell, he doesn't do poultry or lamb. Nature's Variety Lamb formula made him throw up. He also won't eat CN Herring and Sweet Potato or the Pinnacle Fish formula.

Hmm... I was going to suggest CN herring and sweet potato as that's what we just switched Beau to as well. Canidae has also worked well for us but it has poultry and lamb in it.

Right now I'm really starting to want to feed raw...

That's a good idea, Jess. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ack! Waiting for the vet to call back! He's at lunch.

Well, Kai has been chronically vomiting and was scheduled for an endoscopy on Tuesday. Don't know if it's related or not yet.

Thanks for posting that list... Zoey is going to have to go on a kibble. But I think Kai may still go raw or home cooked.

:( I don't know what to tell you!

I do know that this bag of EVO will be the last kibble I buy until things get sorted out with all these recalls.

Has anyone on here been able to feed a poultry free raw diet?

Just a note - I don't know that he has an intolerance to poultry... I just know that EVO didn't sit well with him... could have been something else in there though? Or just turkey or just chicken? Ack!

Jemma actually vomitted right before I left the house this morning. She's on NB Venison + Brown Rice. HOWEVER, this bag was bought a few months ago and she had no problems eating it before and this puking might have to do with the fact that she's been very ill lately with a ruptured anal gland.

I'm just getting worried now and want to switch her over to maybe Fromm, but she's been doing so well on it.

So does anyone know if feeding them pumpkin when switching them cold turkey stops the runny poops?

Melissa, thanks! How much should I feed her with each meal? She's about 5lbs and eats twice a day, about 1/4 cup each time. And how long should I feed her the pumpkin for? Canned, right?

Yep, you want to get pure canned pumpkin. Kai weighs 20lbs and I gave him a tablespoon... so I'll say maybe 1/4 of a tablespoon for your little girl. But if you give a little extra, I don't think it really hurts anything. I gave it to him for a few days. Just until he adjusted. :)
