If one more things happens to stress me out, I might have to start killing people.

TJ and I found out he might not be getting enough money back for us to move to FL on his taxes. Ok, that's fine. Not to thrilled about it, but its whatever.
So we are looking at places that where we live now.
We know we want to move out of where we are from when our lease is up, its just a matter of finding somewhere that allows dogs and not charging an arm and a leg for it.

So, what are some other sites to look up houses/apts for rent BESIDES craigslist?
I have been searching craigslist all blasted day long, and I have found ONE place. And it was $700 a month, and well, we can't do that.
The highest we can go is about $500 on his income, right now we are paying $400.

Any ideas?

apartments.com and rent.com are where I found my place
but be prepared, pet deposits and pet rent are always a bit expensive.

I know its expensive, that's not the issue.
The issue that one lady told me yesterday was that since TJ and I aren't married she won't rent to us.
Then another lady said I can't have a dog over 15 lbs. And if I do, its $100 per 10 lbs. I was like...what?

Perhaps instead of focusing on finding a place you can keep a dog and what kind/size of dog you can keep, why not find a cheap place and then save up to either move to Florida or buy a better, bigger place in the future?

Awww, that sucks :(

If you both still want to move out of GA, you could always start a savings account for it. Even if you can only put in $50-100 weekly/biweekly/monthly, it should add up quickly.

If you move out of your current apartment, you'll have to find another and put down a deposit/pet fee anyway- so realistically, your only costs of moving out of state are the moving truck costs. Would it be possible for TJ to interview with companies before moving? If anything, he could always drive down from GA in the morning (since you live near the FL border).

To be totally honest, I'm not sure what you could find in this area for such a low rental fee. We had a killer deal a couple of years ago renting a 2 bedroom apartment for $1000/month. Since the complex was brand new, they factored in "2 free months" off our rent. Had we renewed instead of buying our house, it would've been close to $1300/month. One bedrooms around here generally start at $800 and go upwards if you want to be in a safe area.

For rental sites, I've always used apartments.com and rent.com .
