I couldn't stand it, I just had to do something about it.
Have you heard about the no-kill shelter in Dalhart, Texas? The one the kids help run?
Read about it here: http://www.dogsafety.net/dogblog
It's been on Geraldo and in People Magazine. You can watch the Geraldo video here: http://www.dogsafety.net/geraldo
See, these kids of Dalhart take care of the dogs everyday after school and on weekends. They've saved over 3000 dogs so far. Now the city wants their land back and has given them until 3-31-06 to move. They're trying to raise money to buy some land, and I've talked some friends of mine into starting a pixel ad site to raise money. People leave puppies wired to the gate with barbed wire! Or tell them, "take this dog or I'll shoot it". One man even told the owner he was going to hell for saving dogs that had been cast aside!
Anyway, these kids work their bums off trying to save these dogs. So I'm trying to help them.
If you want to help, you can donate at

Thank you all

Wow! I hope their story gets out to like the Today show or something. What doesn't make since is that it's because of the cemetary's funeral services across the way. What did it sound like there when it was a slaughter house?!!! Just an excuse to shut them down and a shotty one.

Yeah, it really is. The kids are afraid that if they don't find a new location, the city will kill the dogs that are left after the deadline.

A really sad situation, for the dogs and the kids!
