Hi everyone :)
My cat is 7 yrs old and she has never been missing for more then a day.Well a few days ago she went missing and 4 days later she returned looking very thin and not herself. She was abit scared which she never usually is,shes always been a loving and happy cat.She wont eat but she did have some water. The day we noticed she was missing there was urine and blood on the porch and it had a really strong horrible smell.A day after she came back, she came up to me and acted how she normally does, very loving but she still wont eat.Im very worried about her and im going to take her to the vet but i just want to see what advice i can get from evryone.I love her soo much and dont want to lose her.:(
She's very special to me.
Thankyou
Candace xo

I'm sorry, why isn't your cat at a Vet Hospital?

You don't want to lose her? Then get her medical care! It's not rocket science!!

The only thing that any sane owner is going to do is express genuine concern and tell you to get her to the vet. Again, it's not rocket science. You should have taken her the very first day you recognized extreme symptoms from her. A vet is the only one that can help her, *we* are NOT vets.

Whatever is happening to your cat sounds very serious, you must get her to the vet as soon as possible.
Please try to see a way to get her to the vet even if it's inconvenient. Your pets depend solely on you for veterinary care.

The bleeding was only found on the day she went missing its just shes not eating. When i found her i called the vet but they were closed,i called a few vets and they were all closed because i found her at 10:00 at night.I do volluntary work at a vet and they said they'll do everything they can 2 help her survive. Her behaviour seems fine but as i said she wont eat.I did some research and what she has can either be Feline leukemia or Feline distemper.Shes drinking alot of water.Im sorry if i made anyone angry and frustrated i really am,but im trying.I was supposed to take her to the vet today but its a public holiday (Australia day) and everythings closed. So tomorrow morning im gonna take her straight to the vet immediantly.

Hi Candace,

I agree that your cat needs a vet. In case there is a 'next time' just call your vet and ask. Even if you can't get there he might be able to give you ideas on how to make her more comfortable or how serious it is.

Please let us know what the vet says.

Maybe she should be an indoor cat from now on, or a kitting in a harness and on a leash..

that way you can prevent whatever has happened to her from happening again..

I agree, I would seriously reconsider ever letting her out unsupervised again. She may beg a bit at first, but provide fun entertaining things to do inside and she will soon get over it :)

I really hope she is spayed and vaccinated if you are even letting her out in the first place. If she is an outdoor cat she should have her FeLV vaccination and you don't have to worry.

Hi Everyone

She has never run away before,it was her first time ever when she went missing and shes 7 yrs old.Shes both indoor and an outdoor cat but mainly likes to sleep on a chair on the front porch. She used to sleep on my bed every night and lived mainly indoors untill i got my chihuahua pup pebbles. If i had a choice i would make my cat an indoor cat but my step dad wont allow it. :( He believes cats need to go out and play outside not be stuck inside all day and no matter how much i beg he still says no.This morning she actually ate some dry cat food which i great news but im still taking her to the vet today.
Wish me luck!!

Sorry i didnt reply sooner

Hey sorry i havent replied,my computer got a big virus and i lost the password.
I took tigerlilly to the vets and nothing severe was wrong, she had toilet troubles and was very thin coz she wasnt eating or drinking and so she lost heaps of weight. Now shes eating and drinking and has put on heaps of weight, which is good news.:) She's now her normal weight, shes acting happier now and she loves coming inside to sleep at night. She looks healthier then she has looked in a long time.
Thanks 4 reading and for all your help :D
