I recognized a few faces here and thought I'd join. I am a college student and own a maltese. My mother has 3 dogs, 2 yorkies and a maltese. I am a dog lover and spend a lot of time with my little guy. He was training to be a service dog but didn't make the cut because of some health issues. However he is a well behaved little guy!

His name is Oliver and he's probably not purebred as he is 17lbs but not overweight. He was a graduation gift from my sister. Well actually his half sister was but she was PTS because of a liver shunt. She was blind and going deaf. She could only walk in circles and was having trouble eating. She was only 16 weeks old.

However Oliver came into my life a few weeks later. Since then he has basically been my guardian angel. He was born July 6,2007. I am very happy with him and enjoy all the time we have together. We are testing for our CGG soon and I am then hoping to get certified as a Delta Pet Partner with him.

As for me I am 18 (going to be 19 in march!) and I love dogs, psychology, dog psychology, art, and being active. During the summer Oliver and I kayak (we're still working on it. I can kayak but it's getting him comfortable) and hike. Of course he can't make the whole hike but it's okay because I got a little sling to put him in. He also enjoys swimming in our pool when I'm in it and playing fetch.

I am currently studying at our local community college but plan to transfer after I graduate. This is my second year of college but I have one more here because I switched majors. I currently work at school as well as apprentice under a dog trainer. I try to volunteer at the local SPCA when I can. All the other time I am with Oliver or sleeping. Or perhaps sharing my bed with Oliver.

Well got to go as it seems the youngest yorkie has run off with something he shouldn't have!

Oooo Finally another yorkie on the board.

Pictures PLEASE?!
First I must get him to sit still...

I have lots of baby pics of him (though he's still a baby only 8 months). I'll get pictures up in a second as I will take them right now. Finally found my digi so things are good again. Perhaps I'll get all artistic...

Doc, the Yorkshire Terror (not a spelling error just the truth)

Oliver the wonder dog!

Grounding me after a flashback

Doing the touch command. This gives me tactile stimulation when I am either 'zoning out' or panicking

Just last month he nearly gave everyone in the family a heartattack. He ate 2 interceptor pills meant for our neighbor's GSDs. that was 20x his dose! I can't even say I doubt he'll do that again because he probably doesn't even realize it was the pills that made him sick. He actually jumped the baby gate and got onto the desk. He then brought the box out of the room, tore it up, and then ate two of the pills.

My naughty chihuahua mix Peanut does the same thing. He jumps over the baby gates, he gets up on tables/desks/and counters like a cat. That is why when we are not home he has to be crated.

yes baby gates were not intended to hold yorkies, :yikes:

At 16 weeks and barely 2 pounds my yorkie had the baby gate down pat... up and over in seconds...

hey yorkies are never ever boring they sure as heck keep you on your toes.
