Hey everyone!
I still need a little bit of advice. I am having trouble with Hazel, and I am just so frustrated right now!

No matter what I do I can't seem to get her to stop jumping on me. I've tried turning away from her and ignoring her. That isn't working. She just starts jumping on my back, and tries to get back in front of me. If I try to knee her in the chest, I end up kneeing her in the face because of the way she jumps on me. If she's on the other designated dog bed she flies at me like a panther of some sort. This is getting ridiculous! I've tried "NO JUMP!" in a firm voice but she doesn't want to listen. She has a leash on 24 hours a day so I can stop her, and make her sit.

I've tried a trainer.. advice isn't working.

Her jumping is a problem because I can't trust her around my sisters son.

I was talking on the phone with my sister and she full on jumps on me like a panther and knocks me over(nearly spraining my wrist)

I am afraid that this is going to get dangerous.

I am signing up for obedience this friday(or as soon as they start anyways)

I don't want to give up on her. She's had a rough life, but I am getting to the point where if I can't fix this problem than something is going to have to be done..

*sighs* Maybe I just don't know what I am doing!

The obedience training should give you the tools you need.

It sounds like Hazel craves attention. Try this: when she jumps, make her leave the room, even if you have to escort her to the bathroom. Don't leave her there for long, just two or three minutes should get the message across. When you let her out, make her sit, then pet her and praise her. If she gets too excited and tries to jump again, make her sit back down and withhold the petting until she has held the sit for 15 seconds or so.

Try using a sit or down command instead of the "no jump." Of course, you'll need to teach her sit and down first, if you haven't already, but I'm guessing that you have.

Hazel does indeed crave attention. It gets rather annoying after 5 minutes of pawing and jumping, etc. She pushes Maggie out of the way when I call Maggie over to me. And than she jumps on the bed, and licks my face continuosly. She has a bed to sleep on, and I try to get her to sleep on it, but in the morning she's on the bed. I can't seem to keep her off unless she's crated.

She fights me on sit. I push her butt down and she plants her feet straight on the ground firmly and it's VERY hard to get to her to sit. I make her sit for everything; petting, food, etc, but she's quite stubborn.

I am hoping that I can sign her up immediately for obedience, or this behavior will get out of control. I think she needs something to focus on. I'm not sure. She's a difficult child.

:) I think you may need to look at other aspects of hazels life, how do you feed her? does she come to you for attention or do you call her. Sometime it is other aspects of the dogs behaviour that cause the problems. It is important for the dog to realise who is in charge and this causes other problems to develop. Is Hazel allowed onthe sofa, what is she like when you leave her if I have some more info I may be able to help! :)
