...just a tiny bit late.
Exactly 6 years and 1 day ago we brought my little darling home from the shelter. Since then, she has made an amazing best friend, loyal companion, and squirrel extermination system. She's odd. There's no doubt about that. Thunderstorms bring out her dramatic side. She sporadically decides to play Cujo when visitors come over. Other times, she happily makes friends. She buries bones with her nose, plays with her paws, and regularly salutes us belly up. A few years back, she took a liking to apples, after watching the horse consume them with gusto. She ignores bones until she realizes that someone else wants them. And she has never turned down an opportunity to chase a deer. She used to make it a habit of jumping out of the backyard fence, just to flounce her way to the front door and sit there until someone noticed her. She brought me a dead squirrel for my 20th birthday. She is the best dog that I could have ever wished for.
I know that videos aren't a big hit around here - but there was no way that I would've been able to include all of the photos and video clips otherwise, and so I hope that you'll take the time to celebrate this amazing dog with me.
She has been my hiking buddy, my zen, and my best friend for six years now. We suspect that she is now about nine years young - she's doing great. Although it pains me to leave her for the majority of the year while I am away at school, she's in good hands with my parents. I just wish I could be there to give her a hug and a milkbone.
