For those that don't know Hannah is my family dog, we got her before I was even in highschool and as the years passed she made it pretty clear she's my dad's heart dog.

Hannah earlier this month all of a sudden developed a bloated stomach. We took her in only to have the vet say after some xrays and blood tests that it was a tumor on her spleen they believe that burst and was bleeding into her abdomen. They said they could take the spleen out, but that they were pretty sure since it had metastasized. They did say that as far as cancers go it's not painful, that they bleed into their abdomen and just kinda go into a coma.

So far she's having a bit of trouble getting around mostly due to the size of her stomach and it's making it a little difficult to breath but she doesn't seem to be in pain as of yet.

Cancer sucks.

But here are some happier pictures that I wanted to post before a sadder thread happens down the road.

Aw, sorry to hear that... She looks like a wonderful old gal, especially like the sunset photo of her. I was thinking she was a small dog, until I saw Traveler next to her.

Did the vet say anything about being able to drain the abdomen? We have a terrier at work with cancer that comes in every other week or so and we drain as much as we can to keep him comfortable. I wonder if this might be an option to do the same for her?

She's such a pretty girl.

They recommended against it for her. I wasn't there for the why, I just know my dad asked and they decided no.

It doesn't help she gets super super stressed at the vet.
