For the last few years or so, I've been borrowing books from my local library, but it's been getting super hard recently. First, they changed their hours (budget cuts :(), which made it nearly impossible for me to get there with my work schedule. Second, they stopped sending emails when a book you requested was available for pick up, and I forget to check online.

So, I've decided that if I can find a cheap place online to buy books, it might be easier. Anyone know of a good place? I don't care if it's used or not - the cheaper the better!

Not online, but do you have a Half Price Books nearby? I always kind of forget it exists, but I've shopped there a few times and thought the prices were cheap enough.

I have one right by my work, but I only have two days left there before I transfer to another store lol.

Better world books and alibris are both online used bookstores. I can't remember how alibris' prices are . . . Betterworld has pretty good prices and occasionally really good sales. Half price books has an online store too . . .never used it though.

You can also Google used books online and a bunch of things come up . . . I haven't used all of them, but

Book depository is my favorite place ever!!! The books are cheaper than nearly anywhere else and they have FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, no minimal orders or any of that junk, free shipping on everything. They also ship things out really fast and the US ones usually get pretty little book marks, we tend not to get them in Canada. Here is the link

Half.com is a good place for books, I think there are a few paperback swap groups/places out there as well.

Or get an e-reader and have millions of books at your disposal? lol
