As a trainer at a large dog club i see many huskies and schnauzers, and i would have to say that huskies have a much more engaging temperament. All puppies will chew when they are young, huskies sometimes do this into adulthood. This is not a bad thing though, just so long as the husky has his own interesting chew toys such as a Kong. It is often said that huskies are stubborn and untrainable. This is partly true. They are harder to train than the average breed, though we have several at the club that have titles in agility. If you would like to get into sports with your dog then a husky is just fine! Weight pulling competitions are perfect for huskies/malamutes. As far a dominance goes, we no longer use the word as it is completely over used for every tiny issue. A dog jumping on your bed is not "dominating by taking the top den area", he just wants to sleep on the bed! I wouldn't worry about huskies and dominance.
