So, how many of you are into it?

For those who are unaware of what geocaching is, check out this website: www.geocaching.com

It's pretty much an adult scavenger hunt using a GPS. It's hiking with a fun goal. The common cache usually comes in small tupperware containers but can be as big or as small as the person who plants it wants it to be. The largest cache I've found was an ammo box, and the smallest one I've found was as big as the tip of my finger. The caches usually have little trinkets. Most are little figurines, and random things but also people place trackables and they can end up all over the world. They all have log books where you write your username, date and what you may have taken/left.

I've found 34 caches to date. Most were while I did not have an account, so my 'logged' caches are 14.

so much fun! For those who do go geocaching, what's the coolest cache you've found? For me one of the coolest was when someone had hollowed out a fallen tree, and made it so the end of the stump was screwed in so you just rotated it open. An other one was the smallest cache. It was disguised as a black bolt on a fence surrounding an art piece in one of our public parks near downtown. Both were super hard to find, lol

Today we were out for almost 3hrs. I think Duke and Boomer had the most fun, as you can probably tell by Duke's face in this pic with my friend. Happy geopups, they been sleeping since.

I love it!!

The craziest one I found was in a hollowed out fence post. They cut off the top made it into a 'lid' and hollowed the bottom part out. Took me hours to find!

I've never done it, but it looks fun. Getting out and doing that with the dogs sounds like a bunch of awesome! :)
LOVE Duke's expression, haha. :D

I know Dekka's hubby Snip does!

I've gone along on a few cache hikes with a friend, I've pondered getting into it for a hiking excuse, if nothing else. :D

We do on occasion, it's VERY cheap entertainment for families to do together! :)

One of my good friends is psycho crazy about it, I don't know what his number is, but it's big! Every where he goes, for business or vacation, he caches! Even on his honeymoon to Hawaii he cached, ROFL!

We haven't done any geochaching in a while now. We were really into it for a time, and still check now and again. It is fun stuff! We should probably get back into it...

Ha! that's awesome. Apparently there is one in my city that is a hollow brick that you pull out of a building wall. I also found a hollow baseball bat that was titled "in case of zombies" lol

I urge everyone else to try it :D

Ya my hubby is BIG into it. He has soooo many finds. Darien has a bunch of logged finds too. The coolest one we did was a halloween deal where the whole town gets in on it..

Found the link! http://chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64290&highlight=geocaching

This town has a sign going into town that reads "The Geocaching Capital of Canada" lol they take it very seriously.
