Hello, everyone! I'm new to the forum and look forward to a fun future and introducing you to myself and my two shih-tzu's, Victor-8 years and Sophie-4 months. I have a general question that I hope some of you all could help me out with in relation to Sophie. Her ears are stinkie and I was wondering what is the best way to clean them out. She's such the fun puppy, but, her ears have a fairly decent amount of brown doggie ear wax and it doesn't smell very pleasant. She's been seeing the vet regularly with puppy shots and check-ups and the vet hasn't told me she was having an infection last time, so I don't think it's an infection. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome!! :)

It really sounds like an infection to me. Even if your vet hasn't commented on it yet, from what you're describing, it sounds like an ear infection.

I think it is an infection and have cleaned out both of her ears with ChlorhexiDerm...if that doesn't do the trick in the next couple of days, I'm going to take her to the vet...actually she's got one more shot to get in the next two weeks, so, I'll just up the date if this infection doesn't clear. Thanks for the answer.

You may have to address the problem through Sophie's diet. There are some good threads in the Dog Food forum and Health forum that go through the same problem.

And glad to have the three of you join us :D
