I prefer a polite dog that won't chomp at the bit to say hi to strangers who are uninterested, yet still politely greet new people and other dogs.

Eve is too far forward on the friendly scale for me! Love her, don't love that she immediately loves almost everyone. However, it is a bit of a wake-up call when she doesn't like someone... Always makes me wonder what makes such a friendly dog dislike a person.

I like polite friendly, but I wouldn't mind very friendly. As long as they're not out of control friendly, it's fine.

I had an aloof dog, and I found it really awkward when people were trying so hard to get his love and attention and he would just walk away in the middle of getting pets.
