A friend of mine found an abandoned puppy out at job site and brought him home so I, the resident dog lady, could take a look at him. He's about 3 months old I think and some sort of beagle mix. We're calling him Clyde for the time being.

The problem is that none of us can keep him, Animal Haven won't take him because he wasn't found in Merriam, the Humane Society is full and can't take anything and I'm trying to avoid calling Animal Control because most of the places they take to seem to be on a killing spree lately, judging by the emails I'm getting from rescue groups.

I'm making a million calls right now...it's amazing how hard it is to responsibly give up a dog. No wonder people just dump.

ETA: Breeze, if you want him, I will somehow arrange a transport.

Well I found one rescue that will take him, but we have to find somewhere to keep him for three days that is in the public eye before they will take him. I'm making up fliers as we speak and I will be calling some of the shelters to see if anyone has inquired about a similar dog.

Just emailed Beagles And More rescue.

In the meantime, here are some pictures. Am I close in my age guess of around 3 months?

I've got him for a little bit while my other friend is out running errands...he is being so good! And both mine are taking to him pretty well too...Virgo just let him steal her Kong, which she NEVER lets another dog take her toy. Sawyer's busy making sure Clyde knows that this is SAWYER's house but is being good about it.

I can't get too attatched I'm already at the limit for dogs in my place. I put a Found ad up on Petfinder, but the lady from beagle rescue said the best thing to do is just to ahead and get him vetted and neutered and find a home for him myself. They don't have enough room for the beagles already in rescue.

So we might be hiding him for a few days, though I think Safe Harbor would be the best bet after that. He should get adopted out in no time though...he's already picking up how to walk on a leash, "off", "sit", learned stairs in 1 rep of seeing mine do it and then being lured up the first couple with a treat...

I am beyond tickled with this puppy. The vaccum doesn't phase him, I just cut ALL of his nails and he didn't fuss once--too busy chewing on a nylabone to notice--let me roll him over to check out his belly. I can clean his ears and he just leans into it...and his ears are pretty gross so the cleaning must feel good. He doesn't mind being picked up, recovers from a startle very quickly and is looking entirely too cute fast asleep on a pillow right behind my chair right now.

This guy deserves the best home out there.
