I have heard about this dog food quite a bit on here and now since i have located it, I have a question or 2....I am feeding my chihuahua/terrier mix Solid Gold Wee Bits right now....he does well on them but is not taking off the weight I need him to lose even with the exercise and reduced food amounts, I was wondering how well Innova Evo Reduced Fat dry food works?

Do you guys feel it is a good quality food?

Also what is the difference between Innova and Innova Evo?

I would probably try your dog on the regular Innova EVO formula first and see how he does. Sometimes just making the switch to a high protein, grain free diet like EVO does the trick for getting the weight off. The only thing I can stress more than anything else is feed way less of the EVO then the bag recommends and way less then you feed of Wee bits.

The difference between Innova and Innova EVO is that EVO is grain free and higher protein and fat. :)

that is solid golds we bits info from their website

Crude Protein, Min 28%
Crude Fat, Min 18%
Crude Fiber, Max 4%
Moisture, Max 10%
380 kcal/cup

this is diet innova evo

Moisture 10.0 %
Protein 52.0 %
Fat 15.5 %
Fiber 2.50 %
440 KCals/Cup

regular innova evo

Moisture 10.0 %
Protein 42.0 %
Fat 22.0 %
Fiber 2.5 %
537 KCals/Cup

the calories and fat have me a little nervous about doing the regular innova evo compared to the diet and the solid gold which he is eating right now...should I be nervous or not, also his coat is amazing on solid gold, never seen it shine so well and him have as much energy, does innova have the same support?

I have heard several stories in which dogs have gained weight on EVO, mine included. The ingredients of EVO are fantastic, but I recently changed to EVO Reduced Fat. It has nearly identifical ingredients except less fat. My dogs love it and I have already seen the difference in weight.

Evo

I woudl try teh reg or Red Meat Evo before Red Fat. I have done alot of research on Evo and in most cases I find that people feed less then what is recommened on teh bag and there dogs do just fine. For example I have a 92 lbs lab and a 66 lbs husky. I feed them twice a day, the Lab gets about 2.5-3lbs a day and teh husky gets 2-2.5 a day (for some reason the wife like to use a different messuring cup then I do, even if it says its 1cup I swear its 1.5 hehe)

Anyways,

I think you will like the Evo if feed right.
