So...what's the fix for this for Safari?
You might try http://www.download.com/Safari-AdBlock/3000-2174_4-10793198.html

Not a safari user myself, but that is supposed to be similar to the firefox plugin, and is also free.

I wanted to add: All of this "no virus" thing without ANY separate anti-virus program on my computer at all. I've never had to put Norton or Macaffee on my computer.
Not a good idea :(... just cuz you have not seen evidence of attacks does not mean they have not occurred. All of my websites are nix based, and attacks occur frequently.

Oh, for anyone using the newest OS, you also need the newest version of the ad blocker...just a newer version of the one linked

You have to right click the image making the racket, and select "AdBlock Image".

I got the ads stopped mostly on my work computer... but that trick wasn't working on my home computer and it's still showing all the ads. I just installed firefox 3 on both computers yesterday. On my home computer I'll click the little block option when I see the ad. It pulls up a box where you can choose to block it and i hit ok and it doesn't make the ad go away whereas on my work computer it goes away
