2 dogs, each a bit over 50 lbs.
One is young, the other is over 2 years.
Both came from the pound, so not sure exactly how old - or even what breeds.
Now feeding Purina (green bag).
I'd like to "step up" to a better quality food, but not sure what.
We have access to Pet-Co and Pet-Smart.
Neither have heard of Canidae.
Any suggestions as to what brand either store carries that would be good - or possibly how/where to get Canidae?
Thanks

Canidae has a store locator on their website; with all the recalls going on, it's not worth your time or money to buy something from Petco or Petsmart these days.

I agree, it's not worth your money to buy anything petco or petsmart have.

I buy 33 lbs. of Canidae Chicken and Rice for $27.99. All the good quality food sites have a store locater button, so you should be able to find a quality kibble near you.

I found some - thanks to you folks.
Do I switch all at once? If not - how?
Are the "piddly poops" to be expected with switching food?
Thanks

Switch slowly. Start with more old food and over a week or two add more new food and less old food. If your dog has a very sensitive stomach then make the switch slower. If the dog has a very sensitive stomach then he may get soft stools but when you do a gradual switch you can usually avoid it.

Not all dogs need to be switched slowly. I never switch gradually and have never had diarrhea because of it. It can never hurt to take your time switching though. If you are going with Canidae, chances are you won't have loose stool from switching. Canidae is great for making solid poop. ;)

I just saw on eaglepack.com that Hearty Pet (www.heartypet.com) is offering free shipping for 4 days starting May 4th! Might be a good time to stock up .. their Canidae ALS is $32.19 for a 40 lb bag.
