Since Innova has changed the formula in the dry food I have noticed two of the dogs have fishy breath. I have not noticed it in the other dogs yet. could this really be the food or something else?

They changed their oil sources (I don't think herring oil was in the original formula), but nothing other than that would cause "fishy" breath that I could see...

I didn't know they changed anything. However, my dogs breath is fishy as well. He has never had bad breath prior to him being on Innova. I am thinking of switching to Evo before I get him started a raw diet.

Do their breaths smell only after they eat, or do they smell all the time? If it's just after they eat, it's probably the fish oil in the food.... If it's all the time, it probably means the food is not agreeing with them and a change of brand would probably be a good idea.

That's pretty weird...are you sure it's the food that's causing it? When I rotate my dog between the different Taste of the Wild formulas, he never gets fishy breath on the Pacific Stream (smoked salmon) formula. Is it possible that it could from gum disease (since most dogs do get it by age 3)?
