Finally something nice to show you guys! (self portrait)

    I did this two(ish) years ago in art.... The assignment was to draw a self portrait in marker, and to make it look cartooney, with a "fun" background. I think I succeeded in all three! It doesn't really look like me, but this is one piece I am proud of. VERY proud of the hair... that is exactly what my hair looked like when it was long. It was lovely.

    I'm sorry about the bad pictures.. there was bad lighting, and the second is overexposed.

    I like that piece, Nolu . . . it has great style and the execution is quite good :)

    GReat work! I think marker is just about the hardest medium of all. YOUr porportions are totally believeable, well drawn all the way around.

    Thank you, you guys. :eek: I'm very flattered.

    And yes, it's in marker. As you can see, I haven't quite mastered the technique of making the marker go on the paper without the ugly lines.. but all in all it's one of my favorites, and not something I'd be ashamed to display. I had a picture to work with, so I wasn't just imagining myself.
