Since switching to Acana Zander has been definitely whiny. At first I figured it was a hungry thing, but then the diarrhea came, so I knew I was overfeeding him. So it just seems to be a bellyache thing from being bound up a bit. He's still going, just a bit slow about it and definitely whiny until he does.

Only thing I can figure is causing it is the decrease of fiber in the Acana compared to Wellness CORE. Everything else is about the same.

Either way, someone else suggested Canola Oil or about 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin for a topper. Sound about right, or maybe anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance! Sorry for all the threads recently! But I'm sorta stumped. Or maybe just brain-fried. Lol

I'm a big believer in canned pumpkin. Start with a good dollop mixed with his food, and you can likely wean it out slowly as his body adjusts.

+2 on the canned pumpkin. Just make sure it's plain pumpkin pack and doesn't have pumpkin pie spices, etc. :)

Constipation on Acana was the reason I went to PMR with Lily.

Actually first I went to THK grain free, which solved the not enough fiber issue.... buuuut she lost a TON of muscle, gained fat, and her coat got nasty. So finally I pulled my head out and went wait she wouldn't eat alfalfa in the pasture, she'd catch the mice. ;)

And can I just say detox from the commercial food was so disgusting. That was a real eye opener right there.
