Got me a new 2 month old Golden Retriever, just wondering if I should mix anything up in her food. I feed her Science Diet and I wet it down for her, she don't seem to be eating very much, but she does eat some. Any advice?

LOL - The first advice you'll get from most of us on this board is to toss the Science DIEt - as it's been dubbed by nutritionists. I know the vet sells it, but the vet sells Eukanuba too, and it's not any better. Hills and Eukanuba are very smart in their marketing to vets, knowing that most people will believe that their food really is premium if it's sold by veterinarians. It's not.

The second advice you'll get here is to check out some of the threads on nutrition. There are several, and you'll find lots of information, as well as several links to more information. One of best links is to the canine nutrition guru's site: www.greatdanelady.com . Be sure to look at the reference on the thread about dog foods containing the drug used to euthanize animals.

It may take your pup a little while to settle down in her new digs. It's all new and different to her, and she's probably a little nervous. I wouldn't worry too much about her not eating enough unless she starts losing weight quickly and hasn't started eating well in a week or two.

But please do check out the information on dog food. For what you're paying for Science Diet, you could be feeding her a premium food with plenty of nutritional value, organic ingredients (no hormones, chemicals or meats treated with antibiotics), and made from human grade ingredients, not what's left over on the slaughterhouse floor.

Thanks everyone, guess I should give it a few days till she gets used to her new home. She does eat, but the person I bought her from gave her Puppy Chow and mixed it with Chicken Broth, which I wouldn't think is the best thing for her. My only other concern is this, I live with my grandmother and help take care of her, and she can't chase her around, only thing she can do is let her outside. When I'm gone should I keep her outside till she gets housebroke and when i get home let her back in? My previous dog was raised outside as a puppy till he became a housedog. Only reason I ask should I keep her out is, the barking will drive my grandma nuts lol. She's not used to a little puppy being around yet. I was going to pin her up in the kitchen and I don't believe in using crates really.

Oh yeah forgot to mention she's doing really good on the housebreaking part. She has her accidents, but what you expect at 2 months old lol. No more sleeping late on weekends for awile, I slept kinda late this morning and she peed the bed, but that was kinda my fault not hers. :) Oh yeah and Golden Retriever puppies are in my opinion THE best looking puppies of all dogs :)
