It sickens me! All that tax payer money going for nothing...absolutely nothing but giving a bunch of bureaucrats a job....to do nothing but take away our rights. NOT KEEP US SAFE! All the while, our people are in one of the worst recessions ever, struggling along to keep our heads above water while they take, take, take from us to support crap like this! I would so like to see the American people get together on this and oust the whole *blank* agency!

Not surprising - Dad was an FBI agent (for 35 years) and also dealt with plane hijackings (when they first became popular back in the 70s/80s). After he retired, he became head of security for TWA and I remember him having to cut vacation short to fly to Egypt because of a hijacking. His two cents on the TSA, and pretty much most of the 'extra' security measures put in place after 9/11 is that it's essentially useless and just window-dressing for the general public.

You'd think with an election year and the ever-increasing deficit, some politician would have brought up getting rid of the TSA... he/she would probably garner a lot of votes...

Oh no. Because most people are utterly sold on the "THE TERRORISTS ARE TRYING TO KILL US" narrative. Not to mention all the donors who make serious cash off of the war on terror and its various "safety" auxiliaries.

Have no doubt--create something that makes money for the powerful and can be used to keep people in line through fear, and the government will support it forever.

One of many great quotes from Thomas Jefferson. Our forefathers would be rolling over in their graves at the loss of freedom and the disregard of our constitution by our politicians. They drafted the perfect protection in that constitution and bill of rights. That, thrown to the wind in exchange for the fakery and deception, the government that we now have, is reprehensible.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.Thomas Jefferson. (1743-1826)
When is America going to wake up
