Fajita's Puppies!! and PHOTOS!

I just wanted to thank everyone that gave me support and advice in my other thread, "breeding my chihuahuas". Incase you havent caught up with the thread, I was unable to find a vet that would perform an abortion w/ how far along she was, and x-rays revealed what my vet believed to be at one point a fractured elbow. he said it was most likely accidental, so without much choice i went on and had the puppies. I am keeping one and the other is going to a family member.

I just wanted to let everyone know that everything is going great. the puppies are gaining alot of weight and fajita is doing really well. she isnt eating alot of solid food, but i have her drinking a mixture of goat milk, mayo, karo syrup, egg and plain yogurt when she wont eat food. I think the reason she isnt eating much is because she is "holding out" for the milk. The first few days after birth it was just about all she would eat/drink so i think she got stuck on it. ive began to wean her off of it, so she is having iams hard puppy food and then rotating that with the milk mixture.

I figured out how to post pictures, so i wanted to share pictures with all the wonderfully helpful people that helped me along the way. I understand all the warnings now! its been rough and we only have one week and a few days under our belts, but everyone is healthy as ever. If it were more than two puppies i dont know how i would have handled it!!!!

edit< i thought i figured it out- im still working it out (the pictures)

this is fajita nursing her pups, runt and fatso. runt is the silver one and fatso is the brown one!

this is my dearest little runt

How cute! It's hard to imagine such big pups in such a small mom, glad she had a good delivery. They are cute! Are you keeping the smaller one?

I think she said she was keeping both? Maybe...maybe not. Now I don't remember.

Either way, the pups are gorgeous and mom looks very proud and healthy. I don't see anything wrong with the names, but what if "Runt" grows up to be bigger than "Fatso" or "Fatso" ends up slimming down. :)

Yes both pups will be close to home per say, I am keeping the runt most likely, if not they will be distributed between my older brother and my mom. But more than likely i will keep runt and fatso will go to mom.

They are still doing excellent, however, still eyes are not open. I do not know the specific date of when they were concieved... but i have a question, if a puppy is born say a early ( i heard toy breeds do that sometimes) does that delay the time it takes them to open their eyes?

they are 10 days old. is it normal for the eyes to not open post 10 days?

Aww, what beautiful babies! :) I'm glad everything's going well. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it's ok their eyes aren't open yet.
