I haven't done any actual painting since 2009 and out of the blue I got an email for 3! 2 Boxers and a Bull Terrier! The last one I did was of a long time friend's foundation bitch Cindy. She was the start of Sterling Schnauzers.

This fuzzy pic was all I had to go on as she has been gone a long time. Gulp. I was game, Tom and Santy are great guys.

I picked purple as the back

Worked light to dark, just had to because the beard and shadings are top layers

Darkened the background to a deep royal purple to make the dog pop

Almost there......

These are cell pics so not the greatest. Finished! This is 16x24 and when Tom saw it he said it was life sized. It is in his grooming salon in a place of honor :)

Close up of her head

Can't wait to get started on the Boxer! I have been dying to start oils again.... Maybe the owner will get a nice surprise!

Found another set. This is Ch.U-CD’PR’Kramer’s Tough Pumpkin, Dilly's Great Gram twice removed top and bottom. The Arkay foundation. Val Piltz took this pic of Tuffi years ago and it was my all time favorite. She is mostly white against a black background and the play of light and shadow is awesome. I did this one in a kind of primitive style as an experiment and to get back into working acrylic. Had not picked up a paintbrush since 89. Ruth got it for Christmas in 09

Blocking it in.

You can see the pic taped to the corner

Almost finished

Done!

Blurry one of her face
