Hi
I'm new to this Forum but have read alot of the posts here. Great Info!! I have a dog with EPI Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. She was diagnosed at the age of 10 months and she is now 18 months.
I was wondering if anyone here has any info they would like to share about food or healing for a dog with EPI. We have found much better results going to a Holistic vet for her condition. But we are still very challenged with finding the right food. Did try a commercial Raw but she was not to thrilled. We are currently on Wellness but are changing to Canidae. We just started the change and from reading the posts here Innova EVO is out.
Any food reccomendations or supplements. She could use a good B-12 but I have not found any.

Were also challenged with another dog that seems to have a rash between her legs. They seem to think it is airborn but heck its cold here so all should be clear. Again they want to do steroids but said it would return again. I want to find the cause. The forum has givin me a start. I will remover her bed that has cedar in it and give her a bath. but she has always had stinky feet and from reading it may be a yeast problem. You can feel bumps on her like hives that may cime up and actually break into a sore. She also has some black spots of where the rash was and it smells. I went and looked at Nzymes site and it sure seems to point to Yeast. She became so in active and gained weight. We had her Thyroid tested and she is fine. Are we feeding them the wrong food?

Thanks for reading

The best advice I can possibly give you is to go to www.greatdanelady.com . Linda Arndt has extensive, well researched information on yeast and how to handle it, both with supplements and with food.

By the way, I've just switched my bunch from the Innova Puppy to the Innova Evo and, except for the night Charley decided to feed Kharma about 3X what she was supposed to have (after she'd already been fed properly for the day) it's been wonderful - and the dogs are CRAZY about it. I took Bimmer with me to the feed store yesterday, and out of curiousity, let him sniff around the stacks of the Innova. He sniffed at them all, then came back to the EVO and stood up and put both paws on that stack!

I will have to check the site out Thanks.
I'm trying to locate a store that carries the Innova EVO. I wondered though about the high protein count it had. The fat is high too. Just a concern of mine for digesting and the EPI. But when you think about it when you feed Raw the protein would be higher also. Just doing alot of thinking because we just want the best for them both. They are such Loves!!!
My holistic vet mentioned the brand to me because we would like to stay on a Kibble but if we have to we will go Raw for our girl that has EPI. I read the ingrediants and it sure sounds good. My girls do like the Wellness we are on but it seems that the one started this Rash about 4 months after we changed to it. As for our EPI girl well we don't feel it is the right food for her.

If you want to explore raw feeding, and are a bit daunted by the process of making sure you're getting everything necessary in the diet, you might want to look at a site www.sojos.com . They make an excellent mix to add to your raw ingredients.

To find a store near you that carries the Innova line, go to their website (www.naturapet.com) where there is a protocol that lets you find one in your area. They are also very good about answering e-mails.
