I'm having more issues with Kyrie eating too fast :(

I got her a brake-fast bowl, like this one:
Amazon.com: Brake Fast Blue Food Bowl (Medium): Kitchen & Dining

I think there were 3 sizes and I got her the medium one because her muzzle is on the smaller side.

Anyway, I feed her about 2 cups of food in the morning and around this time right now and I timed her, and she ate two cups of food in one minute.

I'm horrified! What can I do?

I feel like my only option left is feeding her small amounts at a time, but I don't think Travis has enough time before work to spend 20 minutes feeding her and he already gets up super early. I can do it at her night time feeding though. Is that my only option left? I'm so scared of bloat :(

And to add, is there any reason behind this? I was so sure that I feed her enough, am I not? Should she have more than 2 cups of food twice a day? She always acts like she's starving :/

Thanks in advance!

Some dogs are always hungry. Grimm eats his 1/2 cup of food in about 15 seconds. But he's a little guy, so not much of a worry.

If her body condition is good (not too ribby, etc) the amount she's fed is probably fine

I'd try feeding her in a toy, like a kong (you could freeze the food in with yogurt and it should take her awhile to work it out) or a tug-a-jug. Oh and as a non frozen kong alternative I also like the squirrel dude which is basically a kong but it has little rubber prongs over the hole so the food comes out slower.

These are all great if you have to leave your dog too, then they're occupied as well as taking care of their food needs. Just make sure they can't destroy the toys!

Oh yeah and Domino always acts like she's never eaten before in her life. Some dogs are just piggies. :p

Grabs- Thanks. I think she is a good weight. I'll have my vet take a look next time I take her in and get her opinion on her weight right now.

Thanks for your suggestion!

I think I'll do that for her nighttime meal, however since she is fed breakfast then goes back in her crate for a bit, we couldnt do that then. Her crate has a rack in it because she has a cleanlyness problem and sometimes she just randomly pee's.. so we leave that in there and it's a youknowwhat to take out and Travis doesn't have the time in the morning! I'll ask him though, maybe we can work something out :)

Thank you!

My chocolate lab does the same thing. She eats so fast. Sometimes if I put the food down and pet her saying slow Lady, slow Lady, she will eat a little slower but it doesn't work all the time.

Coors is the same way, and just gulps his food. What I do for him has worked great. I got a really big rock. One that takes up the majority of his bowl. I put his food in the bowl, and then really work the rock down into the food. He has no choice BUT to eat slow. The rock is too big, and to crammed into the food to just shove aside. I got the idea years ago with a horse we had who gulped food and would choke. It works for dogs as well. Coors hasn't gulped his food since.

My dog gulps down her food like she hadn't saw food in years, but she gets fed three times a day, so it's not like we don't feed her. My dog is a bit overweight too... I am trying to convince my parents they should only feed her twice a day for her age(so I read my pet health book) and they just refuse to listen. At least she doesn't get that many table scraps no more, I convinced them to stop that at the very least.
