Grabbed the kids and the camera and went up north of the river to hang out with Smkie and her gang today. They finally mowed the Valley, so we had a great open space.

After a good long romp n' bark, we tried to get the now mandatory group shot set up, but no go. Pepper was beyond pleased with herself to be included and NOT on a leash though!

Kept trying to get all of them to sit right and look at the camera, so I went to go be dog wrangler and gave Virgo a good scratching to convince her to stay put. Sawyer looks totally put out that it wasn't his turn:

Victor decided this meant it was the perfect time to come wander back into the shot. What a ham!:

"Hai! Lookit me!!"

"Love"

Tuckered Out:

Drink break!

I was actually sitting in a tree when I took this (those pics will be in the FH) and Sawyer was worried about me the whole time:

Pepper didn't really care and was just happy to be running around freely:

Sawyer decided to walk around to see if there was anything he could do:

There wasn't, so he just bugged Virgo in the midst of her grazing:

Apparently a lot of mice or something were in this field, because all the dogs went hunting. No one caught anything but it was VERY interesting:

Two seconds later, I had an Aussie on my ass. Pretty much literally:

The boys looking at a very bizarre "squirrel"

Pepper wondering how she could get up there:

Virgo looking snazzy in her collar:

And we're *DONE*

Oh, the last pic says it all "they had a great time".

Was Mary at home resting? I love seeing everyone but did miss a Mary pic.

Mary hurt her leg at Petco when Pepper went under her for some reason. She is miffed she is missing on all the fun but she needs to rest it until she is better. Zoom pics are awesome. I hope some of your tree ones came out ok.

Mary is aging quite rapidly at this point. I looked at a pic of her charging out of the water after Victor taken only a few years ago and was astonished. THe end goes as quickly as the beginning does. I doubt she will be doing too many more park trips.:( i am not sure what Pepper did when she cut under Mary but it did hurt her. Is better today, she managed her walk around the block but i sure wouldn't try for 2 blocks. That was just enough to get her heart rate up and get her bowels moving properly.

I swear you can tell what a camera hog dog Victor is can't you? I took that one just to prove that he is. HAve a camera in your hand and look at him. SIghs...Zoom had to shoo him out of the way. Wish their had been more of Zoom and Virgo, i am still new to her camera and not sure of what i am doing.

IT was just too hot to be serious about a group shot.

I love that valley and can't wait until it cools down just a hair more so the dogs can really get into high gear. It's a great alternative to the woods right now, because Sawyer comes out looking like one giant green burr-monster and they've gotten all over my house already.
