Dremel for nails

So, I'm having more and more time free. I figure I can start doing the grooming for Kobe myself rather than taking him in to the groomers.

The groomer uses a specific type of dremel, but I'm wondering if anyone's used the regular Dremel brand rotary tool. If so, what RPM setting do you use, and which tip?

Kobe has very thick, huge nails. like, 1/2" tall and 1/4" wide and really long. Most nail cutters break on him.

I have the Dremel 8200 and usually set it between 10 and 15. Just depends on the dog.

I use 1/2" sanding bands.

Are you both using the AC powered Dremel or the battery powered one that takes about 4AAs?.
