My G pig looks excatly like your pigs! Well, same coloring anyways. Mine always screeches at me whenever I walk into the room. I swear he makes a different noise depending on what he wants.

My last set of pigs were from the fair and whatever little kid raised them did it well:) they would let you do anything to them. I collect my little ponys and noticed some of the clothes fit them and they didn't seem to mind at all:p

Well, I couldn't resist too long. They look so adorable! :D
Plus the shelter I volonteer at had these two fuzzy pigs dumped at for the SECOND time! I hate people who get tired of a live toy and take it to the shelter.
Anyway, here is my pig sty (well there was one more piggie-boy in need that I got to have "three little pigs" happy end story).

The dogs accepted the piggies like a true LGDs should - immediately took them "under a wing". I had friends visit the next day after I got the pigs and three dogs were in the house with us - a two year old and an 8 month old females and a 5 year old male. I had to escort the guests to the bathroom (cause you have to pass the pig's cage to get there) and the dogs were sitting on the way shoulder to shoulder - blocking the path and dearing the guests to come closer. LOL

Funny how gentle they are with animals the size of their snouts and how immediately protective they are of anything that I choose to bring home.
I love my dogs! And I love the pigs already! They are so cute and entertaining, and the dogs LOVE to have critters around to look after!
Thanks, CAOgirl for the great idea!

Thanks! After they have been stuck in a 20''x30'' cage for the last few month they deserve to live the good life. The pig-pen is under a book shelf, I am considering moving books from a lowest shelf, converting it to a second level for pigs and building them a ramp to get there to give them even more room and exercise space. Right now it is 3x9 feet, the second level conversion will give them another 9 sq.feet +.
They get to roam the house supervised by dogs when I am home, but during work hours they stay in the pen. LOL

My doggies are Caucasian Ovcharkas - the lifestock breed from Russian Caucasus.
Here is the girl in the picture with pigs - Ashana.

Here is her fluffy friend Assa.

Assa thinks that PIGS ARE - OH, SO FUNNY!

Great to see KO community is expanding!

Truly the expressions on faces of our breed are priceless.

They are so calm, so peaceful but you know that they go from calm to raising 9 hells in milisecond if need arises!

:)

How can anyone resist guinea pigs... they are just like mini dogs... who needs Chi's when you can have pigs LOL... I think you pigs are beautiful, they are mini versions of your Caucasians LOL. The long hair ones look like they came out of an 80's hair band

This thread makes me miss my guinea pig and ratsies now. The piggy died back in 2002, the ratsies last spring.

That is an awesome set up! I now feel really bad about the generic setups I had for mine...big cages, but cages all the same.

No need to miss them - there are TONS of piggies in local shelters that would love to be your friends. And this setup is soooo easy to do and soooo much cheaper than buying a cage!
What do you say?
