About 2-3 months ago our 4 year weimaraner started urinating in the house. He has never done this since he was house trained as a puppy. we take him out at night before we go to bed (10 pm) and let him out at (4:45am) when we get up. We do not let him drink water an hour or so before bed time. But he is consistantly going to the bathroom in the house almost every night. Any clues on stopping him.[/B]

The first order of business with that type of abrupt change is to take him to the vet. Often our dogs will do something like this to let us know there is something wrong.

Have you gotten a new addition to the house? Allbeit a baby, puppy, or anyother pet? Even someone new in the household might trigger your dog the need to mark its territory.

I would definately however make a vet visit to rule out any health issues first.

avenlee is right. First rule out any medical problems, then try and identify any change in the home that could be the culprit. Examples would be a new house guest, new pet, ect... Once you identify the change it will be easier to resove the conflict.

It happened to my dog. The lab results showed that he had a urinary infection so he's been on amoxicillin for 10 days but within a week he stopped having accidents in the house.

Well my dog leaks all over my house but he is still young, although i think he should be trained by now. I remember the old german/shpered mix we had had the same problem because she got old, and had cancer.
