No, not shoes for your dogs, shoes you wear while out with/taking care of dogs!

Since I've started dog sitting and having to be outside in all sort of weather I've gotten myself a pair of proper rubber boots. They're awesome because I could be in water up to my knees and not get wet and if Becket decides to nom on my foot, his teeth aren't getting anywhere. These are to super awesome shoes I have:

So, what shoes do you wear for dog chores?

I wear these out in the dog yard. Handy in case you step in something they wash right off.

If it's dry out I use these:

And if it's wet out I use these:

The agate ones fit tighter and dry faster than the black ones, which is why I use them for wet conditions. It also means I only have one pair of wet shoes.

See, I was wearing my VFF Treksports at first but if you step in poo it's a massive pain to get out of the tread, worse if it gets between the toes. Also, they are no warm at all when it's 30* outside.

I've worn them below freezing before. Yes, they are cold especially when they're wet. But most of the time I just don't care lol. I suppose when it gets to be nasty and cold and snowy I'll probably wear something else, but not sure what.

OMG, those boots are soooo cute! I love them. Are they Hunter boots? I've been wanting a pair.

I need to invest in a better pair of shoes. As it is, I don't have a good shoe for ANY occasion, certainly nothing good for dog stuff! In the winter I usually go for walks/dog park wearing my Emu boots (think Uggs), which is probably not very smart and more wear and tear than I should put on them. But they're the only warm pair of anything that I have!

What I need is a comfortable, all-purpose, waterproof shoe for the 3 seasons other than winter, and for going to work in.... and a warm rubber boot for winter.

Flip flops. Haha, no joke! I used to wear boots alot in the winter but the cheap rubber pair I had (similar the pair you posted, Izzy, but think from Wal-Mart/Target) came apart after one season. I used them for everything, though. Herding, woods, rainy days, etc. I loved those boots.

For herding, right now since it's so dry outside and sunny with no tall grass, I just wear tennis shoes.

I'm saving up for Muck Boots right now, so hopefully I won't need to purchase new boots for a long time. Specifically these, in purple: http://www.amazon.com/Original-Muck...B8C4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324411564&sr=8-1

black converse for dog walking, dog park time, etc..etc..

and thats the thing about converse, no matter how dirty and gross.. it merely adds character!
They look cute and are machine washable anyway lol

I don't have a yard (condo living) so they don't get that "doggy gross" anyway lol other than some mud or sea water at the park

Agreed. I couldn't believe it when I wore them for the first time. They don't feel like wellies at all, they are just lovely to walk in :)

And good for wider calves like mine too.

I wear waterproof work style boots when dog walking in the winter. Because it's really wet and muddy but my boots are 100% waterproof and it's awesome. It's just a little bit higher than the ankles..

    Something like this.

Ohhh those purple muck boots look awesome! I didn't have anything that was good for much more than light trail walking before dog sitting. I was wearing just sneakers when I started working there but they got super muddy gross in two weeks and it hurt when Becket would try to bite my foot through them. Not to mention the property that they play on all day is 3/4 woods with small muddy streams in it. Super cool though and Izzy has gotten some great muscle tone running like a maniac two hours a day outside!

For summer I usually wear tennis shoes or these from LLBean.

For fall and non hiking outings I usually stick to tennis shoes. For hiking I have LLBean boots too that I Love!!! (I have a water resistant and a water proof pair)

For real snow outings I have another LLBean boot that is great (notice an LLBean trend...)
    http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/70375?feat=630-CL1

I ended up getting all the boots over the years when I started doing tracking with Riley. I needed boots for all conditions, and am glad I have them all.

    stylish dog boots

The first pair of dog shoes sure are some stylish dog boots. I do like the Muck Boots and they have some that are a little bit better fit for male dog handlers. I just can't see myself wearing the purple boots
