Natural ears? Natural implies that the ear set occurs naturally. My dogs are 'naturally' prick eared, they were 'drop eared' (what you are calling natural) until they were 8 or 9 weeks old. I did nothing to make the ears stand up.

Are you implying that northern breeds, or any other breeds, that have ears that stand up were cropped to do so??

Oh? I don't know much about prick ears, I know about rose ears that are set in front V upside down, or hound like ears on the sides...

Natural meaning their were no fixation to the ears at all!

All I know is that what I've seen on the net whether I been to a CKC site or Australian site, or some foreign site of whatever breed & I've seen some breeds with natural fold ears & tails

And yeah... while I don't know of any cropped ears that drop... I do know that there are many, many breeds with "upright" ears that are not cropped!

Dachshunds are NOT a docked breed. They are used for hunting badgers. Their long tails are used to pull the dog out of a badger hole. They NEED their long tails.

I would really recommend more research.

Not ALL Aussies are docked either, many are born with a natural bob-tail. Sawyer, far as I can tell, is a NBT.

"Natural ears" means that nothing surgical has been done to them. Therefore, prick ears, like collies, GSD's, corgis, etc. are still totally NATURAL. They flop before they stand but they stand completely on their own, unless they are presenting a MAJOR FAULT by dropping.

Also, has the OP ever seen a dog with natural prick ears versus cropped ears? Because it's not too hard to tell the difference, honestly.
