I just tossed a load of fleece mats, blankets, and one of the dog bed covers into the wash. They are all looking a little worn, so time to start shopping for a new one (or two). What beds do you guys recommend? the last one I got was a Milliard Plush Canvas and it just isn't holding up as nicely as I was hoping...

our friends bought us some kirlkland beds from Costco a couple years ago for watching their dog while on vacation, and it is nice. Has a double lining that can be unzipped and washed, water proof, if that matters. We don't need the water proofing so much, but it seems to keep the dirt and hair from working into the high density foam like other ones we've had.

I'm sure they rotate thru at Costco pretty quickly, so not sure exactly how they differ from the new ones, but these are about 4 years old, and about as good as they day they gave them to us with daily use from a couple 60lb dogs and a few cats :) All I know is there are a Kirkland brand and are about a third the cost of others we've tried with a lot less luck.

Another vote for Costco (Kirkland) beds here too.

Moses had two: one for upstairs and one for downstairs, and he loved them. Even chose laying in the bed over sitting up in his favourite chair. Cali always joined him in the bed too, and she doesn't sleep in dog beds, so they must be pretty comfy.

As far as price goes, I'm not sure but it would've had to be reasonable considering my mom ended up buying two. Plus Costco is known for being cheap and reasonable when it comes to prices.

Last I checked they were around 40 or 50 dollars. It's half or less of other comparable beds we've bought that didn't wear as well or last nearly as long. I've regularly found similar for 80-120 dollars for the higher density foam.

For dogs 25lbs or less, I would recommend Sofantex Pet Cave.
It features red polyester cover with a partial white fleece liner for your pet to sit on.

So the pros:
1) Affordable
2) Can unzip to wash
3) It has a top individual piece that unzips too. This piece covers your dog

I wash it every week with bleach.

Cons:
The weak point is the zipper is plastic and feels like it would be the first to go.

My last one lasted 2 years, then the zipper and stitching was coming apart.

I like the costco beds too. I also really like cots and just throwing blankets on them - super easy to keep clean.

Our newest beds are from Costco, they have the big, square, "furry" kind here right now. My guys/gal all love them.

They also love the Drs Foster & Smith Slumberball. Heck, I've been known to drag THAT one in front of the TV myself!

The house favorite was the Coolaroo but right now it needs the material replaced.

I need to find a very sturdy crate mat and possibly a portable mat for matwork but I've been incredibly lazy about it.

Hello!

I just changed my dogs bed and I bought Big Barker. Big Barker has stayed in shape. I have found the perfect, comfortable and well made bed for our dog. I browsed online and found good reviews at happypetsnow. Added to that it's very durable for my dogs back. :)

Pretty much all my beds are from Costco. I think I still have one in my truck that is from Canadian Tire. I like cheap dog beds. I'm not interested in spending over $100 for a dog bed. The dogs spend most of their time on the couch or our bed anyway.
