Hello,

My dog is turning 4 years old, and I have been looking for a good dog cake recipe, but have not been able to find one that sounds good. The most common has carrot in it, and I would like a recipe with meat.

When she turned 1 I did this recipe (that I have not been able to find on my old PC) that had liver, chicken hearts, and some other ingredients that I cant remember!! This is why I am asking for every ones favorite dog cake or special B-day treat recipes...:)

Try this:

Meaty Dog Cake

* 1 lb. Extra Lean Ground Meat
* 8 eggs
* 1 Cup Quick Cooking Oatmeal
* 1/2 Cup Nutritional Dog Cracker Crumbs

Meaty Dog Cake Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a small baking pan.
2. Lightly beat the eggs and set aside in a medium bowl.
3. Mix the oatmeal and cracker crumbs into the eggs and then work the ground meat into the mixture.
4. Form a cake from the meat mixture and place it on the baking pan. You can make a furrow in the cake top and place cottage cheese, cheese, ketchup or a combination into the furrow.
5. Bake the cake for 30 minutes or untl it is done. Cool completely, frost and serve.
