Does my dog bring creatures into my bed?

I recently developed a rash on my shins and yesterday the doc told me it was chiggers. Although she does not believe that my dog could have brought them into my house and had a perfect explanation for why the bites were located where they are, it did get me thinking.

Has anyone ever heard of dogs bringing bugs into their humans bed? Abby sleeps with me every night but always stay on top of the covers.

She gets her frontline every month and has never had a flea. She was just to the vet for a check-up and all is well.

Is it possible she's bringing 'friends' with her when she comes to bed?

I can't imagine that your dog is bringing chiggers in and giving them to you. Chiggers are very easy to pick up in high grass, wooded areas, etc., and you typically do get them on your lower legs - above your socks typically, unless you've been unwise enough to sit down on an old log or stump somewhere . . .
