Cricket and I are officially trying out dock diving tomorrow. We couldn't make it to the last practice I wanted to go to.

It's 2 hours long and my friend and her German Coolie are going with me. I am bringing the camera. Also bringing a crate, water and bowl for the dogs, water for us, snacks, poop bags, towels, our bumper that Cricket LOVES and a 4" leash... Can anyone think of anything I'm forgetting that I might want to bring with? I'm so new to dock diving. Cricket does love the water and is a great swimmer. I'm hoping she will decide she likes it.

Yay! Can't wait to hear allll about it!

I do prefer to have my dogs wear a life vest the first time they jump to keep them from going under after the jump and scaring themselves, but that's not something most people do, so ymmv.

Vaccination records. For some reason dock diving is the only sport where you have to bring vaccination records with you to every event. Unless it's different there anyway. Having a 'non vaxxed dog' we can't compete unless we do vaccinate (and they're not even clear on what vaccines they're supposed to have, emailed to ask and they didn't have a clue!).

I haven't been to many but that is what it was like at the couple I have gone to.

I've never been asked for vaccine proof at dockdogs events, but it could be different at UAD or SplashDogs. I usually just keep a copy in my ICE packets in the car either way, just in case. :)

I've compete in Splash dogs and Dock Dogs, I've never had anyone ask about vaccines.

Sounds like you're ready Amber, don't forget a chair (did you say that?) there is a lot of sitting and waiting involved. ;)

I don't think this practice event requires vaccine proof but I can bring it just in case. I didn't think about chairs but I have a couple I can bring with us. Camera batteries are currently on the charger. I'm so excited!
