How do you feel about traveling on airplanes? Do you get excited about the whole airport experience? Does taking off your shoes for the security check drive you insane and ruin the trip? Do you look forward to wandering around the airport during layovers and shopping at the duty free stores? Or, do you fly because it's just easier than car/boat travel?

Poll to follow!

I voted for: Flying is okay- I don't mind being on a plane, but I'm not a fan of airports.

I'd enjoy it much more if it didn't come with any hassles. I hate having to get to the airport so early and deal with lugging baggage, going through security, planning meals around flights, etc.

I've never been on a plane. I'm absolutely terrified. I think I might do it if I wanted to go somewhere badly enough, but I know I'd need to be tranquilized first lol. I'm just afraid of it crashing.

I don't like flying, mostly because I have NO control if something goes bad...and if something goes bad, I'll have so much time to panic and freak out before we crash and die...

I will fly though and I can be calm without medication, but I really prefer to take other modes of transportation when possible.

One of our clients took a Transatlantic cruise to Europe because she's afraid of flying. It takes FOREVER to get there on a cruise- like 10 days!

Okay I wouldn't do that LOL. I really want to go to Ireland someday and I'd probably suck it up and take a plane for that. :p

I love airports and flying is pretty cool too. (well only if the airports are "happening" airports, dinky airports not so much).

I love flying!! My parents travel a lot so airports and planes have always been a part of my life and I LOVE IT :D
I look forward to exploring airports and people watching and getting my reading done on the plane and I love the game of collecting points/FF miles

but I only fly to/from major cities.. I can't stand rinky dink little nowhere airports with nothing to do and that are ugly.

I love flying, I just hate all the bullshit that goes along with it. can take this, can't take those, only this big of bag, oh sir we've changed the requirements since you last flew, even though it was 2 weeks ago, new fees everytime we go somewhere, more clothes have to come off, more stuff revealed, more time to wait, etc.

But once we're on the runway and taking off, I love it.

I love going to small airports, much easier than the big ones, and I have some friends that have small planes so we go on hour or two hour flights just for day stuff on occasion. Those are the most fun to me.

I hate flying. Hate the airport. Hate being in the plane. Hate turbulence. But I'll fly in order to travel.

I hate flying and ever time I do it gets worse. I have to medicate but even then I'm usually crying and freaking out when I get on the plane.

Never been on a plane! But I'm terrified of flying. I'm claustrophobic, afraid of heights, and generally scared of being in a flying tube that could crash to earth at any moment resulting in my fiery death.

I love the flying part of it, being on the airplane, the takeoff especially. But I hate the mess of airports, checking your luggage, hoping your luggage doesn't get lost or just left behind because your plane is over capacity (had that happen once... UGH.) I also hate how it's gotten ridiculously expensive.
I haven't flown in probably seven years now. The only time I'll probably ever fly again is if I ever manage to book a vacation to Hawaii. =P

I was terrified of flying before I actually did it. I had a panic attack on the plane right before/during takeoff. Like serious "what am I doing?! I HAVE TO GET OFF THIS PLANE. OMG. LET ME OFF THE PLANE. WHY DID I THINK I COULD DO THIS." freaking out. Not kidding at all. I was flying with a friend and I grabbed his hand and I don't even really remember takeoff. I remember once we were in the air I sat up... at some point I had doubled over in my seat and I had started crying. And I remembered none of that. And he was like "okay... can I have my hand back now? Please? ow."
The second time (flying back home) was a little better. The third time I was by myself so it was a bit rough again. After that I was all good and takeoff is my favourite part now. =P

I have no problem with layovers and being in the airports. I actually enjoy that part. And I like short flights. My issue is when I get a flight without a layover and my legs start to crap and my butt hurts and I'm just ready to be off the plane!

Haha, I just had a dream that I was getting on an airplane.
I HATE them. I've seen too many movies about planes crashing, I always think the worst. But, I go on them like every year. There's no escaping it. I'm not going to drive to NY or Alaska, lol.
But funny enough, I love airports. I love traveling. I love just knowing that you're going somewhere.
Take off...oh take off is the worst. I'm pretty much squeezing the hand of whoever I'm with, or squeezing the arm rest if I'm alone.

I love flying. I love airports. I could hang around in an airport all day, and I often leave for the airport extra early for that reason.

I think it's because I feel like I have no responsibilities whatsoever there. I have my book, my knitting, or whatever else I've brought to amuse myself... get a snack, and just sit around while other people do their jobs around me. I find it really relaxing.

I hate flying. I used to love it but since having Hannah I just can't handle flying anymore.. Not sure why.

I will fly if absolutely nessecary but if I have a choice I would never set foot on an airplane gain.

Good thing we like road trips lol
