His breed has been around in the states since the 1890's
He is not on AKC but is known to the Agility and herding world.
His breed is true and will soon be in AKC
What is he ?? any guesses ?
Here are two pics of ours in 1990.

Hangin' Tree is a working line of Aussies, not an acutal breed. As far as I know anyway...the dog I want is out of HT lines.

I have only met one!
At a herding trial, yeeeears and years ago.
He looked a little bit like that. They are a typey breed, aren't they?
He was a great herder! And I noticed the heading and heeling as well.

not many know of them because they were kept within California and sold only to ranchers until they proved to be sound and now are in Montana, Utah and California. Very hard to come by but up on the list for ranchers and agility people. Ours beat out our ACD's and Catahoulas for herding the cattle although they did not seem to be as determined as our ACD's at the job.
