We don't really have grass...just weeds that get out of control once in awhile. It takes a ridiculous amount of work to get grass to grow in AZ, so dirt yards it is here. But, this thread made me laugh as we just paid teenagers to rake our yard today, lol. (well, they left early..so no pay until tomorrow when they finish)

We do our own.
I don't mind doing yard work and I enjoy gardening, however massive landscape overhauls are not at all my idea of fun, and that is what I've spent that last way-to-many hours doing. And we have a long road ahead. I would absolutely hire out the landscaping overhaul to save myself the labor...but that money is better spent for dog trial entries

I am a gardener, but a lazy one. My DH NEEDS to be outside, working on stuff so he does a lot of the yard work (and lots of random projects he makes up)
I cant fathom paying someone..mainly, I dont know of any lawn companies that dont use toxic fertilizers and weed killers. Will NOT have that in my yard!

Nah, I like yardwork on a nice day. Well, I don't LIKE it, but it's not the worst thing in the world to go outside with my dog and get some fresh air and sun.
The yard here in Ohio needs a lot more maintaining than the yard I share with my parents in Mexico. Since it's almost impossible to grow a good lawn on the cliff we live on, my mom has desert-friendly plants and my dad and I have a pool we care for.
