Do you go through phases where you just CRAVE a certain dog breed?

I have that list of dog breeds I would like to one day own, and I'm sure I'm not alone on that....but do you just go through a period of time where you want a dog breed NOW? And you just can't stop looking at puppy pictures of that breed?

Right now I'm going through a bull terrier phase. I just can't stop looking at those adorable puppies on pet finder and my Dog Breed Encyclopedia is opened to the Bull terrier page. I've met a few and I've loved them all, someday I'll definitely have one. Quite different from my border collie though! A couple months ago I went through a major Irish Wolfhound phase. My dog preferences are so scattered!

Anyone else?

Yup, corgis. I think it's beyond the point of being a phase though. ;)

I do occasionally go through moments of wanting a chi, thanks to a couple chazzers. :p

I'm beyond looking. There are many breeds I'd love to foster .... but those days are over ...sadly !

I'll go through phases where I get OBSESSED with a certain breed... but the desire to own that breed doesn't go away; I just stop talking about and Googling them constantly lol.

Right now I'm really into Newfies. I've wanted to own one for the past 5 years or so, but it's only recently that I've been looking into breeders and seriously considering having one in the future haha.

I have a few times in the past, but haven't in a long time. I went through a Border Collie stage, a Belgian stage, a Leonberger stage.... and I think that's it. I'm very happy with the two breeds I have now and can't truly imagine living with anything else, eventhough there are other breeds I like.

Border collies are it for me now, though I do still look at every papillon rescue too.

I went through about a 6 or 7 year stretch where it was Ibizans.

Yep... I have. I went through a Border Collie phase a couple of years ago... and a Toller phase. I can't pull the trigger on either breed though, as I keep going back to Chihuahuas.

Yup. It's been border collie for me for the longest time, and even now that I own one, I know I'll have another.

Right now, though, what I'd really like to own is a Pit, but until I move out, it's a no go.

i dunno, i have a list of breds in my head id love to (and definatly will/am considering owning at some point in my life...)
within that group i do find myself jumping between a few certain larger breeds for my "big dog" and going through stages looking at them...one month its gotta be a dane...then the next im looking at standard xolo's, and the next standard poodles, and the next irish wolfhounds and dobermans...but i always rotate through the same group...even though the only 2 i realy keep consistently coming back to are the poodle and the dane

but in terms of smaller breeds...im addicted to cresties at this stage in my life and other than my 2 current chihuahua, i cant see myself owning any other "small" breeds"

YES! Right now I'm on a bad sheltie (or even sheltie x) kick. I usually give up and it simmers down... I go back to cockers. But right now I want one for agility! :p LOL

Its been weims, sibes, tollers, clumber spaniels, greyhounds etc in the past... Anything you can think of, really!

Omg I just noticed, Oliver does the pap tongue thing!

/offtopic/

Haha, his tongue is NEVER in his mouth, it doesn't fit! I love it. :lol-sign:

But back on topic, other breeds I craaave are...

another Border
another Pap
Ibizan
Irish Wolfhound
Doberman

There are other breeds I want someday, but I don't go through obsessive phases with them for some reason....

I love so many other breeds too but these are my tops.

Lately I'm noticing I'm liking tollers more and more. I have a LONG time to mull the next dog over though. It'll be a BC, toller, Aussie, or pap/phalene. It just depends on where I am in life and if I do decide to foray into breeding one day.
