Every now and then my dog will get "hyper" and will run around, jump on stuff. This is a small problem, but she is a puppy and I've accepted this. But one thing she has just started to do is snap at people, bite their legs (clothes) and bark at them for attention. Of course she isnt violent about this, but she is kind of annoying. How do I stop her from biting people, (not hard, only playing but harder than i'd like even for playing), jumping, and barking?

I figured your pup is about 9 months old now and this really isn't acceptable at this age. What training have you both gone through ?

just basic stuff, i've tought her many commands. It' amazing that I can get her to roll over, sit, speak lie down, etc and not behave on a norman scale. I really want her to be a little more calm, no biting or excessive licking.

I agree that at 9 months, these things need to stop. Remove ALL attention and playtime when she gets wild. When she's about to jump, (if you catch it before she does) ask for a sit. She can't sit and jump up at the same time. Reward heavily for good behavior and ignore completely unwanted behavior. Give no payoff for it. Only pat or talk to her when she sits or is acting calm on all fours. Teach her some manners, to sit and wait before food, treats, toys, going outside. Use positive methods so she's eager to comply. If she behaves she gets a yummy treat. If not, she gets nothing. Act calm yourself and confident. Do more obedience practice, a few times a day and show her that it's time to grow up and "work." There can be other times which YOU choose to play, but play will consist of a game of fetch or whatever kind of play YOU want. She doesn't get to make up the rules. More structure and some guidelines is what it sounds like she needs and beef up the exercise to tire her out a bit. Good luck.
