Lol, my mum was very accomodating too, until she realised that there was an infinite amount of animals that i wanted and i just wouldnt stop! We had four dogs, a masssive tank full of fish, an indoor aviary with fifty two breeding finches and canaries, guinea pigs, mice, two cockatiels, a blue tongue lizard, rats and rabbits. I desperatly wanted ferrets but she drew the line there. Wish i had had a horse though!

OH WOW! An aviary. How cool is that!!! 52 birds. That's a lot. What fun! I'm glad you too had a Mum who was so supportive that way.

We're both lucky to have had accomadating and involved parents.

I have a hard time with Princess in our back yard (without a fence she'd be gone). She's great all day long, comes to me anytime I call, but once it's dark she wont. She doesnt want to come in! She wont accept treats outside, unlike Gracie who wont turn any treat down. I started going out at night when she was out, just play with her then go in leaving her out and she finally came to me, but when I finally made her go in that was it. Wouldnt fall for it again. She learns quickly. So now I make sure Princess is inside before it gets dark (only she acts like she's starting to figure out about what time I'll make her go in). Then when she goes outside after dark I take her on a leash. I dont know what it is about the night that she loves being out. Maybe she likes looking at the stars.

You could try making coming in a real, rip roarin' good time, even in the day. So, everytime she comes in, there's a party going on....toys that you save just for that time and put away the rest of the time....really neat toys, treats like fillet mignon with morel mushrooms and a wine glaze bernese (sp?) sause, noise makers, hats, games the works. Throw a party EVERY time she comes inside. I bet after a little while, she'll decide coming in, even at night is a heck of a lot better than staying outside.

I like that idea of special toys, think I'll try that. I do try to make it exciting for her to come in at night but she leaves my game to go wrestle with Gracie. I might try finding or making a treat that even she cant resist and save that for night. Thanks for the ideas.
