I debated whether to post this or not but I sat crying in anger as I watched this today and have been grinding my teeth and needing to talk about it.

Why has this man not been stopped? How can this kind of brutal ignorance be acceptable reality TV?

I honestly don't know how to post this without appearing to start another Cesar bashing thread...I have never seen anything so horribly inexcuseable, obviously wrong, and eye opening.

I don't understand WHY this is allowed to continue..

:(

Out of all that mess, the thing that REALLY strikes me as the worst is his offer to "trade" one of his dogs for their dog!

WTF kind of message is that? This one is broke and doesn't work.........just trade it in on one that DOES work and ISN'T broken.

I agree Doc, that a-hole seriously needs to be OFF tv and not reaching the vast majorities anymore.

one of my coworkers is constantly like "ceasar milan, ceasar milan." Puke! She told me to alfa-roll Keeda one day, bc of her DR. I was like yeah... I'd rather my dog does what I want bc it respects me and is comfortable, not bc it's afraid of me.

It was so awful when the fights broke out. All of the dogs involved, the owners, camera people..all trying to break up several fights. Several pitbulls, NOT ONE BREAK STICK!!!

Trainers who know what they're doing don't put dogs or people into situations where things like this can occur. Seeing how often 'accidents' happen when the camera's are rolling..how can the public NOT be outraged.

Poor Daddy. That Bast@rd put him right in the line of fire and as anyone with any understanding of behavior would expect, he got dragged into a fight.

What have things come to when this is considered entertainment and people like him are deemed 'experts'..just sickening.

There was a time in my training life where shamefully I felt almost the same way. I saw so many people who either loved them but knew nothing about them or ignored who they were and dogs suffering because of it. I saw so many dogs being euthanized here (working for a pit specific rescue) simply because they ended up in the wrong hands, even those loving hands who put them in harms way.

It's really no different than wishing that ALL dogs just fade away so that no dog ever suffers....very emotional, not smart, shamful.

I do think that Cesar does less FOR pitbulls than he has ever done FOR them. He uses the breed to glorify his name....disgusting especially in disguise.

Well... OF COURSE they didn't have a break stick! A dog fight in Cesar Millan's pack is absolutely unfathomable, and it MUST be blamed upon the lazy, crappy, smoking owners of Trinity. There is no such thing as dog aggression!!! Just crappy owners. Hundreds of years of breeding for dog aggression and gameness doesn't matter, what matters is how much of a "pack leader" you are. And it's not like two female Pit Bulls would suddenly start to show their aggression towards each other when they hit social maturity, at 2 years old, that is pish-posh. The solution isn't keeping them seperate, it's supressing their behavior and forcing them into a group of 50 supressed dogs. None of that is Cesar's fault, he can do no wrong!

I mean, He is after all, the Lord and Saviour of all things dog. Proof:

/sarcasm

I find that incredibly disturbing... particularly the fact that Cesar offered to trade dogs. Is that his true colors shining through? Dogs are merely posessions, to be traded, forced into "submission", and exploited for monetary gain as he pleases? Furthermore, that entire situation is proof that Cesar's genius techniques do NOT work in the longrun, in a home environment... they work in the short-run, while the dog is out of their element, uncomfortable, and scared.

I almost was afraid to read this. How sickening! Those people were handling things just fine. As I mentioned in another thread, I can't understand why someone hasn't sued National Geographic for tenaciously insisting on continuing the airing of the dog whisperer. People sue for so much less than what is happening to dogs on account of his "ways." And win! He recommends this domineering, forceful and dangerous stuff, people do it and then all hell breaks loose with their dogs, if not right away, a little ways down the road. It all comes to a head sooner or later when people use these abusive techniques.

What a disaster that turned out to be. And that comment that Pits should just fade away. I can't believe someone said that! When are people ever going to get it...that it's the humans who are ultimately responsible?

Hi Doc....wondered where you went. I see I tracked you down. :p Was looking for some intellectual discussion.

Good article about the dog town and D.W. shows. I saw that program about the rehabilitating of Vic's dogs. Very heart warming....after seeing and turning off for a while the graphic and upsetting dog fights. I came back to the TV just in time to see the wonderful work those people were doing.

:yikes:

Thanks for posting the link with the Nicole Wilde article, as well as the comments. Good reading, constructive, and very little hysteria. :)

I saw the episode awhile back.

^^^ Exactly my thought. Didn't see the episode but read your posted articles regarding what happened. Terrible situation ... especially since from what I understand "Daddy" is a senior-aged dog!! Purposely putting poor Daddy in a situation with a known DA dog is terribly cruel. How could he do that to his dog ... a good dog that has earned some peace in his senior years and deserves protection rather than repeatedly being used in CM's "experiments".

The Nicole Wilde article elaborated on the roots of this situation further, specifically with this:

The Dog Whisperer case involved two female pit bulls, roughly the same age, who were fighting at home. The couple who owned the dogs had had them together for some time without incident. After running into a man at the park who had well-behaved Rotties, they decided to send the dogs off to his trainer (an unidentified man, not Cesar). Three weeks later, the dogs came back with puncture wounds they’d inflicted on each other. After that, the dogs began fighting at home.
Wanna guess what kind of methods that original unnamed trainer used?
Seems he was the one who caused the problem in the first place ... then CM decides the couple just wasn't fit to keep Trinity?!? Perhaps this couple should stop consulting trainers ... they were doing much better on their own.

I'm speechless. I never saw that episode. How unbelievably ****ing disgusting. Sorry the language, but I've had it with him.

And heaven only knows what living hell Trinity went through during the 2 months she stayed at the compound. There's not a chance in this lifetime that I would leave my dog with someone.

And just remember folks that editing is a powerful tool that allows people to see what they want to see. It's what goes on behind the scenes when the cameras aren't rolling that scare me the worst.

Particularly as he TELEVISED a PIT BULL FIGHT . . . and you can bet that made it to TV because it's exciting and sexy and good for ratings. Sure as Hell wasn't good for the dogs - or the breed.

Nice work, Cesar - you're a real hero . . . to the BSL jackholes.

This is not the first time he has offered to trade dogs. There was an episode where this woman took a dog from another country because it was starving and it had all sorts of aggression issues. So after months of training the family gave up and traded the dog for one of his. Personally I feel their dog should have been PTS because of its aggression.

I think it's time for all of us Chazzers to start drafting letters to his producers, and the network. Most especially powerful would be letters from those with backgrounds in animal behavior and professionals who are working with clients who have been injured because of trying to imitate his training techniques.

Nothing is going to change unless people start saying something to the ones with the power to stop it.
