i just heard on the news that there was a recall on diamond dog food because of a fungus in it. 100 dogs have died so far. it is under the names diamond, professional, and country something. i will try and figure out what that last name is, i cant remember right now. short term memory....eee. but if you use this type of dog food, i would check and see what the recall is, i dont know if you look at dates or whatever to see if your bag is included. i would just switch food. i have never heard of this brand before. but i just heard it on the news when i walked in the door. how sad, 100 dogs so far! others hospitalized! sad. anyway, i just thought i would let everyone know what i heard.

Yeah, I saw the news segment on NBC last night. I felt so bad for the people who just lost their dog. It is really heartbreaking, and I hope people using that dog food get the news in time.

Not just those who lost their dog but also those who suffered long term liver failure as a result. Think about those who cannot afford the vet care required now and those who had perfectly healthy dogs and now they are very sick and not with something they will get over. I would be heart broken if this ever happened to any of my animals.

I read on msn.com yesterday that Diamond pet foods said it would pay everyone back for their vet bills and any costs that had to do with this whole ordeal. They said it may take them some time, but they intend to do as much as they can. I know it doesn't help with the misery these pet owners have gone through, but at least the company will attempt to help where they can. Sad situation all the way around...

It may take some time, what are the people suppose to do with the dogs needing attention now. Most vets refuse to do anything with being paid now.

Hey, I never said it was a perfect solution. Just said it was better then the company doing nothing at all...

I checked the website. Thank God Buddy's food is not one of the ones recalled! (He eats the Lamb and Rice diet.)
If you go to Diamondpet.com and look under news it will give you more info. It is only the foods with corn in them that is affected, and only certain lot dates.

Ya'll, just as a precaution if you purchase Diamond food, check your bag for the recall numbers. This is nearly a month old, and what the media officers of Diamond food is not telling you is that some bags go to distribution centers on the east coast, then they are re-distributed around the country as needed, so please check your bag number to see if it is a part of the recall, stop feeding it immediately, and send the bag back to Diamond for a refund.
