Depth of field examples...

    no real point unless someone wanted to see the differences.

    The coffee can is three feet from the candle.

    I love that little lens. Although I'm interested in seeing examples of what people can do with the 1.4

    I don't know a lot about photography, but this really helps explain to me very simply what a change in settings does. Thanks so much for illustrating this.

    Ohhhh... THANK YOU! I have been trying to figure this out. I've been trying to read up about it, but THIS makes a whole lot more sense to me than any book has. Lol... maybe I'm just slow, but I think I've got it now!

    glad it helps a big. The big difference here is the aperture. The shutter speed was only adjusted after I set the aperture :)

    I had the 1.4 but sold it... and regret it. I'm going to have to buy another; it is my favorite lense for portraits.
