A friend of mine worked at a boarding facility not too far from where I live. Someone brought a dog in to be boarded for a bit then never came to get him. The owner of the business and my friend went to the addess provided to try to return the dog to the owners only to find out that it was a fake address. So my friend offered to care for the dog in the mean time until they figure out what to do with him. So he's been at her house for maybe 2 days. He was thin to begin with and started putting on weight when he was being boarded. Today he wondered down the street to my house and spent all day playing with Bear and Dixie. He's a cute little guy. Maybe 35 pounds. He's some kind of lab mix with long hair but he has brindle markings on him. He's very friendly and is great with kids, dogs, cats, horses, and all sorts of other animals. I feel so bad that he doesn't have a home right now. My friend can't keep him and neither can I. It's sad, you can just see the look in his eyes and it makes me want to cry.

I have to take Dixie for shots this week. I'm going to talk to my vet and see what they think I should do for him. The local SPCA is so full with dogs right now. I think we might try to rehome him ourselves. He needs a family. Pics are almost done uploading. As soon as they are done I'll post pics. Any advice is welcome.

He's a handsome devil.

I can't tell you what I think of the a-holes that dropped him off. I get really sipped off at that kind of cowardice.

What's mostly sad is he's a great little dog. He's friendly and lovable. He knows how to sit and doesn't jump on small kids. Someone, whoever dumped him, is missing out on a great dog.

She is too cute!

I have a dog that was also abandoned at a boarding kennel. Guess some people think they also double as shelters.
