Cute Doggie!

here is the story behind this little girl....well, she isnt really little! her name is roxy and she was left at the kennel i also work at. we think she is about 8 and a rottie/shepherd mix. she is really sweet! i guess what happened is that this couple was having an affair and were going away for the weekend together and put her in the kennel, (i think my boss knows one of them or something). well, they were supposed to pick her up that following monday, well, no one showed up. the guy called that tuesday and told my boss that the lady he went away with was going back to her husband and her husband wouldnt let her bring the dog back, and that he didnt want it either. well, that was about 7 months ago. i feel so bad for her being stuck in a kennel all day for months now! she is really sweet, she knows how to sit, shake, lay down! im pretty sure she is house broken, but i am not able to bring her to my apartment to really know. the only thing is that i dont know if she would be good around little kids, if they pulled on her ears or something she wouldnt like that. anyway, if any of you live in indiana and are interested! send me a message.

Poor little thing, being left like that and spending all that time in the kennels. She looks so sweet too, who wouldn't want to have her.

I really hope someone gives her good home.

i start volunteering tomorrow at a local rescue and im going to see if i can bring roxy there to try and get her adopted. hopefully she might have a better chance there, i have been working on finding her a home on my own and it hasnt really been working. probably because most everyone i know is a college student and lots of renters dont let you have dogs! which is silly i think. so we will see what happens tomorrow!

ok, on saturday i went to ARF to volunteer and asked one of the people in charge about maybe taking in roxy, to get her exposure to people who are looking for pets...so she isnt stuck in the kennel all day and night for the rest of her life. and they acted kind of pissed off that i asked, and they said no. i kinda got annoyed, i feel like i am the only one who cares about giving her a home. that is the second rescue place i have tried to get to help me and they wont. isnt that the job? i know they do have to say no sometimes, but i have been trying for months! i am about to say screw it and just bring her home with me! (even though she is pretty big, and my apartment is kinda small....and i already have two other dogs living with me, along with my sister...so it would be WAY crowded.) it just sucks that she is like 6 or 8 years old and all of the sudden is homeless, and no one is willing to help her out. i wish i owned my own house so i could just bring her home.....poor girl.
