Soo, my office is crap because I never use it because it's crap. :p

It's not really organized, so I don't really go in there. I want to rearrange/do something crafty/make it look good. For cheap. :p

I have shelves that need to go up, but I also need to get the planks to put them up. Right now I just have the bracket and the thing the brackets go on.

I'd like to do something with it that looks good, is more organized and will accommodate Indy's crate. She's the only one crated in there currently because she barks when I get home, and it's in the back of the house.

Any thoughts/ideas/help is awesome. I know some of you are master pinners on pinterest, and anything from there is cool too.

I've only got a few tools though, like hammers and drills, no nail guns or saws, though my mom has those if I absolutely need them for something. And here are some pictures showing what it currently looks like. The stuff on the floor isn't normally there, btw, I just moved a dresser out to use as a game station in our living room, and I'm going through all that stuff.

This is the closet

I'd like to do SOMETHING with it, but what? I've thought about making it a craft room/nook thing, But I've no idea how to go about doing that. OR I could figure out a way to get some sort of storage space in there and use it for all of my dog stuff. I don't know. What the heck do you use closest for when you don't need to put clothes in them?

This is one half of the room

I like the little corner with the table and my cork board on it, but I feel like it could be better.

And the other half. The filing cabinet rolls and is a pain in the butt, but if I could figure out how to keep it from rolling (the wheels don't come off, and the top opens up, it's not a drawer.) I could probably use it better.

SO. Ideas? Stuff to try? Ect. I'm on a relatively tight budget, but dollar store stuff, cheap stuff from Walmart/Target/ect I can probably swing.

Step 1: go to Pintrest
Step 2: Search office ideas
Step 3: get so ridiculously addicted to pinning stuff you never actually complete any if the projects :D

I'm sorry I have no good ideas, I'm terrible at interior design! But I love the contrast between the color of the walls and the floor!

What kind of crafts will determine what kind of furniture. I would put a small kitchen table and make cubbies underneath for bulky type storage. Then maybe some book shelves with baskets for dog gear.
Hmmmm hang the cork board up and put a little shelf under it with a little pad of paper to jot stuff down on and pin to the board. And put that by the table so easy access to nakae notes on. The crate could go in a corner and like put dog pics around on the wall above and put a rug under it. Ow . Really depends on what exactly ya.wan tti do with it.

well you are starting off great with those hanging ikea shelves, I have two and they are CRAZY USEFUL! They hold up great and can carry a lot of weight

I love cube shelves. You don't have to build them (they click together) and they can be arranged in different ways/for different purposes
You can get a set at walmart/target for cheap! I would buy a few sets and just work with the space you have
the regular way

baby gate.

to cover important things

hang them for wall storage (this is how I use them: FUN EXTRA! You can hang things from them! Very useful for keys, leashes etc..etc..)

On the desk storage (useful for papers, documents, supplies etc..)

The great thing about these things is that you can get CREATIVE!! Build them around the dog crate for dog things, build a few in different places, etc..etc..

If you have an ikea near you, these are what I have and I am a BIG FAN. They are made for children's toys (they are called trofast toy storage system) but they are a shelving system with big plastic tubs as drawers basically. Like the cubes, you can buy a bunch of different frames of different shapes/sizes to meet your needs. BUT you can also buy a bunch of different buckets (S/M/L..clear/colored.. covers, etc..)

This is how I have mine arranged. (I use the top middle as a place for the tv/extra seating)

They are a bit more of an investment than the cubes. But they LAST and they are pretty.

I was hoping you'd see this Fran!! lol!! I really like the wire cubes and hanging them up is something I would never have thought of myself. I'm thinking I'll get some of those and put them on the wall in the closet for storage of dog stuff with bins in them.

The desk comes apart, and I was thinking if I could get a smaller dresser/storage unit the top could sit on that and I can use the wall shelves I have already to make a better craft area for above the desk. I need a comfy chair though, lol, as I don't ever sit there because I have no comfy chairs :p

And I need more/better wall art :p
